Pearl barley with spinach against cholesterol


The pearl barley works, in a way, like rice when cooked, but with other properties. It can be very good against high cholesterol and you should not lose sight of when to incorporate it into preparations. This recipe is similar to a risotto and is of wonders: barley and spinach. Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of pearled barley
  • One liter of vegetable stock
  • An onion
  • A bunch of spinach boiled
  • Spray plant
  • One tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper


Preparation:

Wash well and drain barley. Meanwhile, it begins to brown the finely chopped onion in vegetable spray. Once ready, barley and spinach incorporates two minutes. Now you begin to add broth slowly, stirring from time to time. Let cook for about forty minutes.

Process spinach or finely and add it to the barley when to finish cooking. Season with salt and pepper, but add a tablespoon of olive oil to give smoothness to the dish. So, you will have this delicious risotto of pearl barley ready to be served.
